speak up!

Public Speaking

Speaking has been a powerful way for me to share the lessons I’ve learned through sport, leadership, and life. From TEDx stages to youth empowerment workshops,  conferences, and school events, I aim to connect with audiences through stories that are personal, inspiring, and actionable.

Across my projects, I explore topics like resilience, leadership, overcoming challenges, and redefining limits—lessons that go beyond swimming and can be applied to everyday life. Each talk is an opportunity to inspire others to embrace growth, face obstacles with courage, and pursue their goals with purpose.

What if the way you see the world—literally and figuratively—shapes the limits you believe in?

On the TEDx stage, I shared my journey as both an athlete and an individual navigating life with unilateral vision. For me, challenges were never just physical—they were about perception, adaptation, and the constant decision to move forward even when things felt uncertain or unseen.

Swimming became more than a sport. It became a space where I learned to trust myself, to push beyond what I thought was possible, and to redefine what “limitation” really means.

Why It Matters

The Message

This talk is about more than overcoming obstacles—it’s about understanding them.

We all face challenges that aren’t immediately visible to others. The question is not whether those challenges exist, but how we choose to respond to them. Do we let them define us, or do we redefine them?

Through my story, I explore the idea that growth begins

We all face challenges that aren’t immediately visible to others. The question is not whether those challenges exist, but how we choose to respond to them. Do we let them define us, or do we redefine them?

Through my story, I explore the idea that growth begins when we shift our perspective—when we stop focusing on what we lack and start building from what we have.

Why It Matters

In sport, in academics, and in life, we’re often taught to measure ourselves by visible results—times, rankings, achievements. But some of the most important battles happen internally, far from the spotlight.

This talk is an invitation to look deeper: to recognize unseen struggles, embrace resilience, and understand that strength is not just about performance—it’s about perspective.

TEDxTukuy Peru

TEDxTukuy 2020

Many Peruvians first came to know my story at thirteen, when I became the youngest athlete to represent my country at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Since then, my journey has been shaped by national and international records, including becoming the first Peruvian swimmer to reach a Junior World Championship final.
This talk took place in 2020, during the uncertainty of a global pandemic. At a time when the world stood still, I had to adapt—training in a 2 x 3 meter temporary pool, redefining discipline, and learning to stay focused despite limitations.
On the TEDxTukuy stage, I shared not just my achievements, but the reality behind them—the resilience, creativity, and mindset required to keep moving forward when circumstances are far from ideal. It’s a story about adapting, persevering, and finding strength in the moments that challenge us the most.
